The Aleksanteri Institute Visiting Scholar Programme's call for applications for Aleksanteri Visiting Fellowships for 2009-2010 is now open. The application deadline is the 6th of March, 2009. Download full application instructions (pdf) and the application form (doc).
The Aleksanteri Institute Visiting Scholar Programme awards Aleksanteri Visiting Fellowships to highly qualified scholars who are pursuing research on Russia and Eastern Europe in themes related to the Institute's research agenda. The programme awards Fellowships that provide a monthly grant and the use of office space and facilities. The duration of the research period can range from two to six months. The Fellowship enables Visiting Fellows to devote full-time attention to research and to engage with the Russian and Eastern European studies community at the Aleksanteri Institute.
Fifteen Aleksanteri Visiting Fellows were invited to join the Institute in 2008-2009, for periods ranging from one to five months. In 2009-2010, the Institute expects to host five to ten Visiting Fellows for research stays of two to six months.
The call for applications opens once a year, early in the spring term. In 2009 the deadline for submission of applications is March 6, and the selection of Visiting Fellows is concluded by March 31, 2009.
